Terms of Service

By creating an account, signing in, or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Float.

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum age required in your country to use online services with parental consent). If you use Float on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The “Effective date” above shows the current version. Continued use after a change means you accept the updated Terms. Material changes will be posted on this page.

Float is a collection tracker for video game holdings. The Service may include:

• A catalog of games with platform, region, and related details.
• Guide-style market values and history drawn from third-party price sources we store in our database.
• Tools to record games you own or want (portfolio, wishlist) and see estimated totals.
• Dashboard views, search, and product feedback.

Float is not a marketplace. We do not list, buy, sell, consign, escrow, or ship games. We do not execute trades. Any decision to buy, sell, grade, insure, or hold a game is yours alone.

We may hide certain platforms or titles from public browse views while still keeping them in our internal catalog and price history. Catalog coverage, images, and values can be incomplete or change.

Some features require an account. You agree to provide accurate sign-up information, keep your password confidential, and tell us if you suspect unauthorized access.

You own the collection records you enter (for example, which games you hold, condition, quantity, and optional purchase price). You grant Float a limited license to host, display, and process that data solely to operate the Service for you.

You are responsible for the accuracy of what you enter. Float does not verify that you physically own a copy, its condition, or that a purchase price is correct.

During early testing we may offer limited guest or shared access. Guest sessions are not a personal account. Do not store information in a guest session that you need to keep private or recover later.

Values shown in Float (including “new,” complete-in-box, loose, graded, and similar labels) are informational estimates based mainly on third-party price-guide data we import on a schedule, and in some views may include other public market signals (for example sold-listing insights). They are not:

• An offer to buy or sell from Float.
• An appraisal, insurance valuation, or tax opinion.
• A live bid/ask, guaranteed sale price, or promise that a game will trade at that number.
• Investment, financial, or collecting advice.

Guide prices can be stale, incomplete, or “soft” relative to real sales. We may flag values that look unusual. You should confirm any number that matters with primary sources before you transact.

You agree not to:

• Scrape, harvest, or bulk-download the catalog, images, or prices except through features we expressly provide.
• Attempt to bypass access controls, hide-from-site rules, rate limits, or security measures.
• Upload malware, or interfere with the Service or other users.
• Misrepresent your identity, or use another person’s account.
• Use Float to facilitate fraud, counterfeit goods, or other illegal activity.
• Reverse engineer the Service except where applicable law allows.
• Use automated tools in a way that burdens our infrastructure or third-party providers.

Float’s name, logos, interface, and original software are owned by us or our licensors. Catalog metadata and box art may come from third-party sources (including price guides and image databases) and remain subject to those parties’ rights. We display them to identify games in the catalog, not to claim ownership of publisher or studio trademarks.

Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, Sega, and other names are trademarks of their owners. Float is an independent product and is not affiliated with or endorsed by those companies unless we say so in writing.

The Service relies on vendors and data providers, including hosting, authentication and database services, price-guide data, and, where enabled, marketplace insight feeds. Their terms and privacy practices apply to their processing. We are not responsible for outages or inaccuracies originating from those providers.

Float may offer paid plans in the future. Prices, what’s included, and billing terms will be shown at purchase. Until a paid plan is offered to you, use of the Service does not create a payment obligation.

Features labeled beta, preview, or experimental may change or be withdrawn. We do not guarantee that any particular console, title, or chart will remain available.

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE.” TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that values, images, or catalog matches are complete, current, or error-free, or that the Service will be uninterrupted or secure.

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, FLOAT AND ITS OPERATORS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOST PROFITS, LOST DATA, OR LOST COLLECTION VALUE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY.

OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR CLAIMS ARISING OUT OF THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNTS YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE TWELVE MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM, OR (B) USD $50 IF YOU HAVE NOT PAID US.

Some places do not allow certain limitations. In those places, our liability is limited to the fullest extent allowed.

You may stop using Float at any time. We may suspend or close access if you violate these Terms, if we must do so for legal or security reasons, or if we discontinue the Service.

After termination, sections that should survive (including intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and general terms) remain in effect.

These Terms are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If a court finds a part unenforceable, the rest still applies. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict-of-law rules, except that consumers keep any mandatory protections of the place where they live.
